OK, this is a little different than any other contest I've thrown up here. It's a straight up catfish throw-down. Rules are super simple and prize(s) will be awarded at the end. (Prizes are not acquired yet, but there will be some cool SWAG to give as a prize)
Rules
Memorial Day to Labor Day - Ends September 3rd, 2018
- Catch from a Boat, Pier, Shore, or anything that floats
- Heaviest Fish wins (Weight) but still want tape shot if available (so bring your scale or use the one at the local lakes ranger stations)
- Does NOT have to be CPR. These are mostly stocked fish and a catfish fry is encouraged, although we totally support if you are CPR here.
- Any Catfish Counts - Channel Cat, Blue Cat, Flathead Cat, Brown Bullhead, Yellow Bullhead etc.
- You have to catch the fish... no hand offs to kids or wife and calling it your own if you didn't reel it in.
- P-Soul members and mods are the only ones eligible for this contest, so if you are not a member, be sure to join up and at least post a "hello" message in the general forum.
- Pictures are mandatory to be counted.
Simple. Just make sure you have a tape measure, scale and camera for the picture shot's and we have a freshwater game going!

I know you would have zeroed it out but knowing the weight I can just land, weigh, and release. Less hassle than to land, pull out the fish, zero the scale, put the fish in, and weigh.

I have a three day catfish trip coming up. I'll keep the details tight to my chest, but 72 straight hours of catfishing in less than 2 weeks!!

That's as big as the bigger ones I've caught. There are not many monsters in this lake, but lots of them.

Where allowed, carp can be an effective catfish bait. I want to try some in the surf, DFG said it was OK, as they absolutely will not come off the hook on the cast if you hook through the skin.
I usually have to cut it off the hook when changing bait.

I'm focusing on boat work. May have Kitty functional in a couple of weeks. Not sweating it. Just need one good outing at this point and once Kitty is functional watch out.

But, this one hit my girlfriends rod and it was handed off to me as it was taking her into the dock.
So it doesnt count and steve is still in the lead.
Side note:
This place is normally alot more productive. I felt the water and its gotta be over 75 degrees. I know cats like warm temps but i think this is over the top for them. Would too warm of water shut em down making em more sluggish???
