Hello Mike?  You still out there in the Montana Matrix?

Hey Tom, yeah, I'm still going strong in MT. I was going to post a report for you guys from one of my best days on the Gallatin, but I never got around to it. I didn't take many pictures anyway.

I haven't followed the site in a while. How are things in SoCal?

Things are good Mike.  I get lost in all of the stuff I have to do, but I'm finally getting back on track.  Any fishing?  Fossil Hunting?  Hiking?

I hope all is well!

One of my favorite (non-holiday) named days of the year!  Here is a link with the artwork.  Quetzalcoatlus baby!

General Board / Pando - World's Largest Organism

Man, I got to see it when I was fishing with Jim (LandlockedinUtah) in the mountains of Utah, Strawberry Reservoir.  Fishing was awesome, but I was curious about the trees as they were growing in strange patches that seemed to be all connected.  Jim quickly educated me on the Pando which was just awesome to learn!  I had no idea.

Well, it looks like after 80,000 years, it is dying.  A good read if you need something to check out while having lunch.

General Board / Re: Updates

I updated the SNBF board.  I'm going to keep it simple with just winners and art for each one instead of writing a story.  I think everyone should chime in with their stories from the evening's festivities.

Welcome to the boards!  Good to hear some of that information for some upcoming trips.  It at least seemed the grass and kelp wasn't too bad since your buddy picked up a few fish, but the season is just underway!  It's funny how walking 100 yards down the beach sometimes gets you away from the big floating kelp monsters.

First post!  Great meeting you Tom!  Glad you got to see some cool stuff while you were here, wish we could've decked a drum for you, but that's fishing.  We found 'em two nights ago, I'm sure Mr. SCR sent you pics lol.

Let's go RED SOX, clap clap clapclapclap ...

Adam

Great seeing you on here Adam!  That was a blast!  I somehow knew though that I would hear from you soon since that grand salami by the Sox....  I guess I'm rooting for the Dodgers now.

Hit a new spot with Jonh for me and Tony and Jonh bait for Jonh. I fished about 100yds from Jonh to get away from the kelp and eel grass that was plaguing us. He toughed it out.  I went the entire night with nothing more than a bump that tore the bait off of my hook. Jonh got a leo and bat. He can post pics if he wants. He cut out early, I stayed til a little after midnight. I'm stubborn like that.  Will give it another go soon.
