nice surf nice bass
« on: February 16, 2016, 12:16:04 AM »
With nice surf conditions I had to get out and hit the surf again.
Gf was ready when I got home from work at 6. So we hit the local liquor, picked up 3 macks and hit the Surf.
Used the carp rod and the heavy rod.
Had 2 legit pull downs, which I missed and I landed 2 decent bass at 17" and 19".
While getting ready to leave the gf's carp rod went off and turned out to be a real nice 24' calico on a mack chunk. Put up a good fight and really surprised us when it got beach.

 Can't wait for tomorrow's sesh!

Great looking bass, Ray!  My biggest calico is from the surf of all things and put up a great fight also on the long rod.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

On the carp rod it put up a hellava fight, 20#braid and a rod that likes 2oz and bait...it was doubled over. She also got it relatively close to shore aswell.
The others were on the heavy emcast, I figured I had kelp or a -1 on lol

Nice. Next time I go to the casino I'm packing some bass stuff and a spare ice chest for some fresh fish.

Still cannot find my leader spools that should have been in the bag.  ???

That bass would've been an honored guest for dinner at my house for sure! I've had some nice ones from shore, but they were mostly from MLPA areas like the Soup Kitchen.

This all depends on where exactly you fish. Some parts are better than others.
