overnight on the Apollo 7/17
« on: July 18, 2016, 10:32:01 AM »
Our annual company trip finally arrived.

Carpooled with a co worker and grabbed dinner at seaforth landing while waiting for the others to arrive.

We got a late start since Andy decided to crash his car on the way over and ended up getting towed to the landing.

We left about 8:30pm and headed into mexican waters 80 miles out.

Grabbed our bunks, shot the sh!t and rigged up for the morning.

Conditions were nice, not much more than a bump on the water.

Day light broke and we went searching for paddies.

Stopped at the first one which yielded one yt for the boss.

Not much goin on so we were off to the next one.

Next one produced a few, and we continued from paddy to paddy.

Things were really slow out there and the captain did his best to get us on fish.

I ended up sticking one mid morning at the bow.

There was a total of 18 of us and 17 fish caught.

It was cool despite the lack of fish, lots of good people and a top notch crew.

Got a cool dolphin show right along side of the boat on the way in too..

Looking forward to things picking up, have another trip booked in a couple weeks and few more will follow shortly after.

Looks like you made the most of what was offered out there. I was hoping to hear about a monster bluefin foamer, but life offshore is so hit or miss. Well done boss.

BTW... you are starting to look like an Amish Irishman!

Your right, looks like a combination of both the hat and beard.

Yep was on a fly lined sardine.

Yep, I wouldn't have thought that, but the hat kind of did it.  8)
