 Nice write up, I am no Reel expert but looks like you made a nice purchase. I am looking to upgrade from a spinning reel to conventional after 40+ years, Thanks for the review.  8)

I understand your reservations, but I'm not worried about it. They have a good following on the East coast.

I did send in the SM and my SG for servicing. The SM was dunked in the water twice and ended up getting some sand inside. The SG was just due for it's annual servicing.

The SM handle was swapped out free of charge because mine was scratched up after it fell on the ground.



They were also able to increase the volume of my clicker so that it wouldn't drowned out by the surf. It's now as loud as my Fathoms. HUGE difference!! For the SG, they upgraded the anti-reverse pawl from aluminum to stainless steel.
