I got my first 7 gill last night. It was a great experience. Thanks to Binh for showing up last night and helping me through the whole fight. Binh, you the man! I can't wait to land the next one.

Do you have any data for the shark list so I can add?
Incoming?, mack?, female? Length or rough estimate?

It measured 73", caught on a mack head, incoming tide, I don't know if it was male or female sorry.

It was great to be there to see Andre get his first 7gill. It fooled us for a while, we thought it was a bat ray. Not until I see it in the surf did I tell him it was a shark. Here is a photo of Andre fight it last night.


Details of the catch are as follows: Caught on the incoming tide (2hrs before the high), bait was Mac head, surf was 1-2 ft.

Andre also hooked into another shark an hour after the 7gill, looked like a Soupfin by the initial run and head shakes. Unfortunately, I think it rolled on his line and broke off. It would have been epic to have him land two different species for the first time in one night.

Unfortunately for me I was getting no love by the sharks last night. Lost two rigs to the surf last night too.  >:(

Congrats to Andre for willing to make the trip down and making the most of his time on the sand.

It was a female (no claspers that I could see)
