Long Day at the Wrong Lake 12/31/14

 Had plans to fish Jennings with Tom. His info said it was open for the holidays. It was wrong. Quick switch to plan B and we ran up to Poway, Tom's favorite spot ever.
 It was cold with rain moving in and out, but that was way better than the pouring rain when I left my house.

 Picked a spot to fish and set up rods with nightcrawlwer and commenced to fishing. The bite for us was slow. The crowd down the way was pulling limits of monster trout in pure combat conditions. We opted to stay out of that. In hindsight maybe we should have shouldered in.

 Got one fish about 10-1030. Tom split around noon. I stayed til 5. There were fish being caught near me, I tried everything I had, but only got the one fish.


Heading out soon to break in the 2015 license.

I'm impressed that you put that much time in looking for one of those slug trout.  Bummer it didn't happen and I know neither one of us wanted to go full contact trout fishing.

Great fishing with you this morning also. You ended the year on a high note and i started it on one.

Heh ... that's one more fish than I've ever caught there. 5 trips.

Poway lake is a curse for me. Everytime I go with high hopes and they get dashed. Freash water fish hate me. :'(
