Cell Phone Apps

Have any you want to recommend? Fishing related or not.

Here's what I got:

Fishing Related

Fish Alerts = Real time positioning letting you know if you're in an MLPA/MPA/SMR. Even breaks down specifics on what can be caught if any.

Surfline = Wave heights, water temps, and tide.  Some locations also have a camera showing actual surf conditions.

Kelp Forests = Field guide to the algae, plants, fish, and invertebrates that inhabit Pacific Ocean kelp forests.

NOAA Radar = Storm tracker.

Google Maps = Google earth for finding likely fishing spots and how to get there.

Fishing Knots = Step by step instructions on common knots with video tutorials.

Time Killer Apps

Art of Manliness = "The Art of Manliness is a blog about growing up well, aimed at men their unique challenges and interests" I see it as kind of a younger, hipper GQ.

Words with Friends = We all know this one.

Candy Crush = See above.

Quake Feed = Earthquake related app. Tracks quakes and tsunami warnings around the world and locally through the USGS.

Honestly never used candy crush or the word one.

The kelp forest one is interesting.

I mostly lurk fishing forums from different regions and countries.

Do that too. Reminds me how much better other places have it.

Not too many that have as many boxes checked in the plus column as we do.

Four seasons of fishing, generally good weather, free parking, free launches, live bait on demand 24/7, and, and, and....

Tried surfline but it was a data hog.

Maybe they fixed it but it ate a gig in 2 days.
