New Years Day Fishing (1/1)
« on: January 02, 2018, 07:44:09 AM »
Well, after a long night of partying, I finally got some sleep and was supposed to wake up and meet Steve down at the ramp.  I just happened to wake up 2 hours late with a horrible hangover!  DOH!!!!

Needless to say, the fog was also pea soup out there.  We decided to not run down to Point Loma to look for the yellows, but stayed close to home and did some bass fishing.  First drop and it was on like Donkey Kong!

We had a steady pick for most of the day.  It was never wide open and it never was totally dead.

There were about an equal number of Turd Rollers to Calicos.

Most were bass, but we did pick up a handful each of other critters .

We ended the day with fishing some super shallow kelp and ended it with a nice bass on the weedline.

We called it quits and I couldn't even fully wash the boat when I got home since I was so crippled.  Hopefully, I get a little smarter and don't make many of those mistakes in 2018. LOL

Well, Happy New Year everyone.  Time to put the new license to good use!

You can't catch them from your computer chair.

8am launch for a 6am scheduled departure on New Year's Day wasn't totally unexpected.

Turned into a pretty nice day on the water once the fog lifted.

Great way to get the skunk off the license.

Thanks as always for the boat ride.

Those are some nice pig calicos! They fight OK when not hooked on heavy sharkin gear huh? 😉
That second sandy almost looks like a sandy/calico hybrid by its markings...
Obviously you guys aren’t prone to hangover sea sickness 🤮
