Saturday in The OC 1-20

With the surf chasing us off the big pond, TFT, SoCal and I hit the batting cages at 2:00pm for some recon. Typical for this time of year, nothing until sundown, then a couple of bites around the tide turn for some critters of the wrong kind. The water looked really good, clear and salad free, but it got cold once the sun went down. Still trying to figure out how fish that small can suicide themselves on a 10/0 hook. The bite died down, and we gave it another hour before calling it at 7:30pm.

Sorry guys, no pics. They were small, it was cold, I still had beer and didn't feel like getting up out of my chair.

There's so much time between now and Bat Fight there's no telling what's going to happen. One storm can change all of your plans. It was either the Bay or not fish, and not fishing was unacceptable.

Guys are catching some nice fish, but not posting. And even if they did, most guys are not willing to do what it takes to go after them. Plus, it's still hit or miss. It's not like there's a guarantee you're going to get something pic worthy.

As to Bat Fight? You're suffering will continue
