Giant Morning Bay Beast! (2/8)
« on: February 08, 2018, 01:59:19 PM »
I needed to get out of the house for a few hours and decided to take the small rod down to the bay and see if i could find a flatty or something.  I started off on a corvina hunt, but never got a sniff.  I moved around the bay and finally just decided to try and get a bass to beat the skunk.

Mission accomplished with a Pee-pee bass.

I caught another as I was walking back to the car, but it was even smaller than the first!

As the tide was dropping, I was checking out the cool sea life along the way.

I found a little guy also.  Not sure if it is a different species, or just juvenile colors.

Finally got number 3, but still a little dink.

Then the monster came!!!!

I was like "What the hell is going on???"

How the hell they got it under and through the bridge was nuts.  It looked like they had only a few feet on both sides and I swear it was churning mud in the shallow water!

In any case, it was pretty cool to see and I called it the day.  I ran home and got on the horn with a few recruiters as well as submitting some resume's with some positive feedback, so that made me feel pretty good.

One more call today and then it's time to relax and get some of my gear ready.  I'm getting into game mode for some big sharks and to look for a mud marlin or two.  I also have to design the new Bat Fight shirt...  Ugh... I need to motivate for that.  LOL
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Glad you found a few spotties to play with.  That barge is massive!  Seems like it would have been better to go when the tide was a bit higher  :o

I think they are dredging back in sail bay, I saw them come from there in the evening heading back toward the back bay.
It's all Tom and Don's fault! They "hooked" me on mud marlins and sharks!

Dredging is the cover story. They're really dropping Tide Pods ;D

Anybody have an emergency beer?

I think they're dredging in Fiesta Bay and dumping in Sail Bay.  I took part in a kayak event at OEX and we had to move out of the way when they brought the barge over to dump.

Hey Tom, glad you had some hits on micro bass and more importantly, hits on the resume!  Keep your spirits up, we're pulling for ya!
