My Wife Understands Now (5/28)

We went on a family bike ride down at the lakes today and I packed an old telescoping rod just in case a ninja-sesh showed itself.  As we were riding around the lake, I see a big 4 pound bass just hiding in the shade and pointed it out to my wife and daughter.  My wife says "I'll just watch from up here"... First cast and the bass heads over and grabs it!  Fish on!

My wife and daughter are now freaking because I guess they had no faith in me that this huge bass would take my lure on the first cast!

It screamed line off the cheap reel and jumped twice.  Easily a 4# bass, but on the second jump, it threw the hook.  Oh well, that's what I get for fishing with gear that I got back when I was a kid and "As Seen On TV".  LOL

My wife is still amazed at what she just saw.  I told her... "This is why I fish..."

I'm pretty stoked and will be back for him.

The fact that you brought a portable fishing rod on a bike rod tells me a lot about you. That $hit never happens to me.

hahahaha, I used to own one but this is the same era style telescoping rod.

I was also using the "Helicopter Lure" .  I hope you guys remember that one! lol

Great Story! Now I have to go out to my garage and dig out my old pocket fisherman!  ;)
