The skunk continues
« on: October 17, 2018, 07:14:16 AM »
Hit a new spot with Jonh for me and Tony and Jonh bait for Jonh. I fished about 100yds from Jonh to get away from the kelp and eel grass that was plaguing us. He toughed it out.  I went the entire night with nothing more than a bump that tore the bait off of my hook. Jonh got a leo and bat. He can post pics if he wants. He cut out early, I stayed til a little after midnight. I'm stubborn like that.  Will give it another go soon.

Welcome to the boards!  Good to hear some of that information for some upcoming trips.  It at least seemed the grass and kelp wasn't too bad since your buddy picked up a few fish, but the season is just underway!  It's funny how walking 100 yards down the beach sometimes gets you away from the big floating kelp monsters.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

It could be so much worse. I've gone weeks with nothing only to sand hand shark after shark for other peeps. It happens, but time on the sand will improve your catch rate!! Good luck!
