A Lobster Night for the Books
« on: March 17, 2019, 10:53:24 AM »
Short story..  I'm struggling with a terrible cold/flu and i get a call to head out lobster fishing by a buddy who never catches less than 100 a night (so he says).  I know it's not the best thing to do with me being sick, but with only a week left in the season, I can't pass it up.

Holy mother of god!  This guy had some super cool and interesting ways to hoop net.  87 lobster on the first set of 10 hoops alone with 4 keepers!  It just kept getting crazier!

We had a few nets full of them with 27 and 28 all piled in a single hoop!  Dump in bin...  Measure... Toss back.

Only dropped 5 sets and had this for numbers....

We even broke his old record in one evening... or should I say half an evening.

Of all of those, I would say at least a 1/4 or even a 1/3 were all 1/8" short.  We also threw back about a dozen legals also.  Crazy since we were only a week away from the season ending!

I felt terrible that night because I was so sick, but it somehow made things not so bad with all those bugs popping up!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
