Bait making in the river
« on: April 01, 2019, 11:28:42 AM »
No pic but needed a fresh carp for catfish bait, in the desert of course,. Went down to the SD rivr and damn turtles were constantly getting in the way.

Skeeters were starting to swarm so on the literal last cast with just 2 corn kernels left on the hook a 4-5 pounder decided to play ball.

Made a beeline to the weeds but managed to keep her out. Fillets in one bag, head and tail section in chum bag 1, body carcass with eggs in chum bag 2.

Been months since landed anything.

5 lb fish on a 10 lb leader is always fun. We went side to side on the river a time or 2. They are real tough fighters.
