Usually, someone says "How do you know what kind of fish it was even though you never saw it?"  I never have time to answer specifically, but usually just let them know it's from years of experience.

Finally, I decided to write something up so they get more than just my standard answer.  I'd like to hear your feedback as I'm sure there are some things missing that I can add to it, but it was a quick "Shoot from the hip" article, so I hope you enjoy.
