Early In Morning

I got a text from Vern, on Tuesday, saying he and his dad planned on fishing early Thursday morning, and would I like to tag along?  I agreed, rearranged the schedule, and off I went. It was a nice overcast morning. Got to the beach at 5:30 in the morning. I was able to land a bat ray. I didn't measure her, just tossed her back.




About 30 minutes later, I landed an 85-inch male 7 Gill, on a slack tide, on a tailpiece of a mackerel. After we beached him took a couple of pics, and let him go, Vern was hooked up. I'll let him take from here and tell you the rest.





You can see big Vern watching as I almost lost a finger.



Not a bad A.M. trip, thanks for inviting me out Vern!
