Took my dad to Newport
« on: August 22, 2019, 03:58:49 AM »
My father has been zero fish for the last few trips to the beach, he was starting to get discouraged.  I figured a skiff rental in Newport Harbor would be the ticket.  The barge didn't have anchovies so we took on a scoop of fairly large sardines.  Fished from 6:45 to around 11:30 before he started to get tired so we called it a day.  Ended up with around a dozen spotted bay bass and he caught one wsb.  We lost a couple big fish, including one that bit through 20 lb fluoro..........figured big halibut.  None the less we caught fish and my dad was happy.  He slept all the way home   ;)
