Getting Checked by the Pinoyfisher Police (9/15)
« on: September 16, 2020, 06:33:13 AM »
Getting back to the Tuesday evening grind lately.  Met Squatch on a big tide Tuesday looking for some grinners.

Conditions were pretty damn good and there were a lot of bait stealers.  Not sure what was removing heads from the hook, but they were quite efficient at it.

I was using a Frog Tongue sinker for the first time, so there was a slight wobble to the rod when it slipped.  This made small bites undetectable from the slipping sinker, but it was worth a shot.
I got my grinner, although I'm not sure how much it counted as it was as big as a corbina and half the weight.

As we were sitting and waiting for the big bite, an officer (or Ranger) snuck up and asked for our licences.  He quickly remembered us and for the second time in two trips said "You guys fishing with Mike?".  I laughed and said Mike's the Thursday Night crew.  Steve and I fish on Tuesdays.  hahaha
Super cool guy and continued on his rounds.

that was it.  We didn't get a single bite that seemed worth anything, so packed it up early at 10:30 during the dropping tide.  It didn't even seem worth duking it out for another 30 minutes because I was afraid I was going to fall asleep on the chair.

Well, that was it.  I love the fall crispness in the air as the heat of summer was getting to be a bit much.

Thanks for reading!

Are those lesions on that smoothound? I haven't seen a ranger or DFG in years, makes me kinda sad honestly.

I don't remember seeing any lesions. Might be beach detritus and a little blood from the hook.

I swear Steve and I are checked at least a dozen times a year if not more.

Glad you got the skunk buster! I’m surprised that ranger even bothers getting out of the truck. He should know all of the regulars. Must have been bored.  ;D

It's good to see you two are back in the routine, good for the soul.  I haven't been checked by a warden in several months.............

He was hoping by him walking down, he would "will" a bite and could watch a shark being caught.  ;D

Hey Chris!  How's Zoniehell, AZ treating you?  Been a tough year all around and even Sasquatchsmack doesn't seem to help.... well, maybe a tiny bit.   ;D
He's out right now probably smacking the hell out of Yellowfin and Dorado while I'm here stuck at work, so this is more a Sasquatchsmackmeback day.  hahahaha

I hope all is well out there.  Doing any fishing?  Carp?  Cats?  Lounge Lizards?  Keep popping in.  It's good to see you still alive and kicking!
