I'd had it with the "megalomaniac" a few months ago, wasn't worth the trouble to address it publicly/directly. Jscrib and Limits popping in and removing him has a vibe like a WWII liberation mission. Too bad it's getting shut down for reference although I've been in favor of that for a while. But how many perch pics did we need to see? I don't know, but we'll figure that out in the shore reports here at PS in the coming months and years!

Whoa what happened? I stopped posting because I couldn't view the threadstarter under post titles, just the last poster. I chimed in about it and was told to rewrite code which I'm far from qualified to do.   ;D

Edit, pulling what I said.

Check out the general board for some recently locked posts and you'll get the idea of what a common vibe was for the last few months.

The short order cook has apparently finally went over the deep end.

Hahahaha

Skrilla, I reread your reply and realized you can’t see it at all. Fishbum went off the deep end and combining that with moderating powers he tanked the whole site with negativity and his own unique brand of dictatorship evidently.

Aaaaaawwww, they made the forums totally unavailable?? I was hoping they’d just lock all the threads or something so I can search threads and look at patterns for different species and places. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done that already. And now all that’s gone.

This is weird. I hadn't checked in there for ages, but I had a strange feeling yesterday something went awry. I visited the site only to see the message that it's shut down indefinitely!

That's too bad. So many good memories during the glory days, before the big SM platforms, and when people seemed better able to handle themselves on the internet. I'd like to hear the story of what happened someday.

I only caught the beginning of the downfall from when Glenn tried to prune moderators off the boards... Then it escalated very quickly and harshly a few months later. I'm sure someone here can elaborate with more details.

Great seeing you are doing well Mike.

Thanks for keeping up with the stories, Chad! If things go as planned, I'll have a small collection of some of my favs published this year.

Good choice with CdA! I spent a good portion of my youth there visiting family. Awesome city. Pre-pandemic, I was passing through a couple times a year on my way to Spokane/Lake Chelan/San Juan Islands. I will let you know next time I head that way, hopefully this summer.
