Was thinking that too Steve.

Shoot ... my uni knot at the 40/80 connection seems to be the worst collection point for me when it comes to grass and kelp :(

I too have the 3way Tom linked. No complaints ... yet ..

Yeah Dave, that main-leader knot is a big collection point, but I suppose it could keep the actual bait a little cleaner.

You guys ever mess around with a 2 hook trap rig? Paul's worked pretty well.

Just curious if you've experimented and reasons why not.

That's actually what l've bin using the last month or so, I use an octopus hook with the eye bent outward and have it free sliding above my other hook, really helps with baitstealers as of late and I feel I've bin hardly missing any bites, I also add bait thread to keep a nice profile

I've also been using the 2 hook rig. Landed my last 2 big surf bats on it. I like it. I keep it short to prevent hooking anything too deep, but if whatever is hooked decides to swallow the bait, then keeping it short won't matter.

Not really my style. I feel like it would be prone to gut hooking.

More interested in something that will eat the whole bait, not just part of it.

You can't catch them from your computer chair.
