The last 4 weeks have been picking up tremendously in the surf from San Diego to Ventura Counties! One of our old friends, Kaipo, even scored a monster 78.75″ Soupfin up in Southern Orange County a few days ago!
Currently, San Diego is a mix of Soupfin Shark and Sevengill Sharks. The Soupfin are much thicker and running in bigger groups. The OC has also been getting some very big Soupfin along with other “random catches” of bigger sharks.
LA has been kicking out mostly Sevengill’s lately. They are not in big numbers or there is not a lot of people out there looking for them. I’m not sure which is which.
VC has a lot of Sevengill’s right now, but with it being light out later, it is only giving the guys a few hours to fish before the parking police come out to kick them out. In any case, It is well worth the drive!
Keep stopping back to the forum and see what is being caught. While you are there, join up as a community member. It’s free and easy.
Thanks for reading and until next tide!
