Well, the kids are starting to go back to school and that means the beaches are a little easier to fish from with less people to get in the way. It’s been months since anyone has really caught any larger surf sharks except for a really big leopard shark here and there, but this may be the sign that the surf is heating up. Here Latimeria shows off his longest Soupfin Shark to date, whether from a boat or from the surf, it measured out at 79 inches.
The hope for a surf caught Hammerhead is fresh in everyone’s mind right now, so be sure to keep fresh line, leader and rigs on. You’d hate to have any tackle failures when that once in a lifetime surf shark comes along!
