Anyone have any surf rods, sharking reels, or combos(conventional or spinning) they’re selling currently? Just figured I’d ask around since I’m looking.

Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / Soup anyone?

Iv'e been on the hunt for my first Soupie for a little while now after landing my last 7. So I got the word from Kam of a decent spot and met up with him shortly after work on Monday around 5pm. We started off by catching the local resources in the area. Ranging from BSP, to Corbina, and some YFC to use as it was the best bait we could get. Once obtained we set up our heavier rods in search for the grinners. Kam got a nice hit and a shore run which landed him a pretty big sized Leo. It was getting a little later so I decided to start packing my gear and throw on the last piece of this Perch I had cut up. Well.... As soon as I start to pack my things up, my rod starts to scream. Go figure right? I pick up my rod, set the hook, and it was on. I even was blessed to get a small breach which than I knew what I had hooked and I was not losing it at that point. Shortly later we were in the wash and Kam is about to get the wrestle of his life. Wrapped in the steel leader, rub leader, mainline, and even around Kam is a nice size easily 70" Female Soupie. She easily came unwrapped, de hooked, and released. There's no way I would have done it without Kams help. Thanks a ton for that. Stoked on my first. A little while later Kam is hooked into his own and lands her. Yet another nice, healthy, female Soupie. Also safely released.. I'd say it was an overall great night.

Well... with getting my first... I was hoping to get another if I was having time during the week. I got the call that I was off Friday so that meant I was going to be out again Thursday night. Arrived to the spot around 6 with a good friend of mine, caught some BSP, and hooked up my heavy gear. The beach was pretty empty and the bite was rather slow once the tide started to recede. I had pulled the hook twice on which had felt to big a rather large shark and a definite bat ray. The sun had set and it was just a waiting game at this point. A little later I land my second Soupie... And a fat one and much larger one this time. A nice sized 75" Female on the Perch aswell. Measured, pictured, and released. These girls have so much energy when you land them faster than expected haha.. My buddy Nate landed his PB Leo and I got one shortly after that. It seems that the Leos were too fast on the baits since the tide was dropping so fast. Called it a night a little while later. Until next time..

Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / First Timer 5/2

First time forum poster here.. I’ve been wanting to wait to catch my actual first before posting and we’ll last night finally did me justice. I’ve been watching posts and learning new things for months for this page.  I was surely about to hit 10 consecutive skunks in a row if not more. Okay 10 is just really being nice. Ever since the beginning of this year practically every weekend. I had been spending more and more hours over and over again watching people catch em but I’d  go multiple nights in a row without a bite it. So with all the recent posts lately I thought maybe I’d give it a shot. Took out my brand new Daiwa Seagate 50h, got to the water around 7:30 on upcoming tide and threw on some bloody mack chunks. Conditions were ideal with a seaweed at the minimum. Swells weren’t too bad until later into the night. Missed my first bite at high, hooked into my first on outgoing. Didn’t fight crazy, just head shook like I’ve nothing felt before making me think the hook was going to pop the whole time. But Im beyond stoked to finally have got my first one. Healthy Male taping out at 65”  and swam away strong. It’s about damn time...
