Surgical tubing for reel foot
« on: April 29, 2016, 05:00:57 PM »
Dummy question here but what size would I get for a nice comfortable fit over my reel foot? I guess a standard foot size for my saltist(s)

Since I picked up my HDX I've been chucking heavier baits with a solid Hatteras cast and my thumb is slipping off the spool.

Gona order some tubing from amazon to fix the problem but unsure about the size.

I use a piece of rubber tourniquet cause I have ready access to them from work. If you happen to have an old inner tube around you can cut a strip from that as well. I also just use electrical tape to tape it to the rod right below the reel seat. I can take a pic if you want Eric.

Around 8mm. Cut it down the center and lay it on flat. Gives you twice the surface area and doesn't mess with the seat as much.
Keep it tight
