Hemorrhaging Money
« on: November 01, 2021, 09:30:19 AM »
What the boat didn't take from me, my truck has just finished me off.  Hopefully I get it back today so I could get out fishing.  Haven't had my truck since Thursday...

Rant Over...  but feel a little better knowing the Jets won yesterday.  hahaha

best day buy truck. best day sell truck. sounds like a boat.

I actually have never felt that way. Loved buying a boat and so sad to put it to grave ... like a pet I guess. Hope you find some happiness soon brother ..

I spent A LOT of money this last year basically paying two shops to pretty much rebuild my boat motor.  (Turns out they are fairly certain it was my ECU and had to purchase a new one since my old one was apparently 'unrepairable' from the ECU repair shop.... parts for that discontinued motor aren't easy to find and aren't very cheap)

I brought my truck in because I knew it needed new brakes, and probably needed the rotors resurfaced (It did).  It was at the 100,000 mile service and knowing how expensive trucks are and the lack of quality used vehicles, I said lets get the required maintenance.  Turns out the good part is it is pretty much set up for the next 100,000 miles... but I needed a new timing belt, serpentine belt, oil seal behind timing belt, water pump, valves adjusted, differential and transmission cleaning and fluid swaps along with all of the other fluids and spark plugs.  I think there was more, but I'll just keep that there and you can probably have an idea on what that ran me for the entire bit.

Ugh, only money I guess, but I have little to spare.

Come on Powerball!

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry for the rant, but between the Vet, Boat, and Truck....

Labor is expensive these days, the parts are the cheap side of the bill, but now you can feel confident towing your boat around. Hope your lucky numbers show up soon :)

Typical 100k service for Hondas. Got that done on the Odyssey at 85k miles. My Accord is still kicking at 270k+ miles. Will take the van in this coming weekend for the brakes, I know I'll need new rotors with the vibration I feel as I apply the brakes.

I just did my own rotors and brake pads on my Jeep, cost about 120 bucks on Amazon and only took about  an hour of my time from start to finish. Some of this stuff is easier to do it yourself and save a small fortune in labor.  ;)  Hope you all have a successful Tuesday and Thursday Shark Night 8) 8) 8)

Even expenses at the local Library have increased significantly.

Anything one owns that is discontinued will be a headache and cost big bucks.
