Something Has to Break....
« on: December 27, 2021, 07:24:29 PM »
Long story, but my wife has been known to feed wildlife when she knows she shouldn't.  I have no evidence this is what happened here, but I walked out to check my trail cam to see what's been digging in my yard and find this....

I know the culprit from the footprint, but the trail camera confirmed.

My wife was pissed as I got my 1200 FPS pellet gum ready for the evening feast, and she was not having it. Part of me thinks she did feed it and now it trashed the yard.  It wasn't her $300 bucks and 20 hours prepping the yard to get all the grass up to par, so she has no vested interest in it dying. Long story short, I'm going to calm my soul and find another way to deter it from digging up the yard.  I waited until she wasn't around and set up a @&*%$!^@%$% trap...  If this doesn't work, I'll have to go back to plan A.

It’s eating grubs. Kill them, it will go away.

Easier to kill one over thousands.

If you want revenge, kill the raccoon. If you want to fix the problem, kill the grubs.

They’ll both be back anyway.

My plan is to eliminate both problems....

Sound reasoning. Could end up with another nice hat.

Get him?

I stayed up until 1:00 am and no sign of him.  I had all the lights on in the back yard also to deter him. I woke up to even more damage than the night before.  I'm losing my mind....

Sounds frustrating as hell.
If you go with live trapping, the pest guys at work use canned cat food or tuna as bait.

When I had racoons digging my yard I got a 'motion activate' rain bird.  Worked like a  charm   8)

I put one in the yard yesterday and no racoon destruction today.  Not sure if it went off or not, but the coincidence is uncanny.
