Multi strand wire to hook/swivel connection
« on: June 08, 2015, 02:03:52 PM »
What is the best technique to "tie" multi strand wire to a hook or swivel with crimps? The wire is 130 lbs strength.

I tie an offshore loop and double crimp with double barrel crimps.

Most use offshore loops, I don't...

Edit

I double crimp as well with double barrels

Eric H,
What do or did you use for the lighter gauge wire, since you are into the much heavier gear.

I didn't use to make the loop. Had a couple crimps pull. Cost me fish. Maybe s bad crimp job on my part, but once is a fluke, twice is a problem. Tieing the loops is a pain but I do it anyway.
