Sporadic Surf Shark Fishing: That’s what it has been lately. Great surf shark fishing conditions have given way to big clumps of weeds or heavy current at times which has ruined a few fishing trips. Every now and then one of the guys were scoring with a nice Soupfin and/or Sevengill, but nothing steady as of late.
Here Sasquatch shows off an almost 6′ pup Sevengill shark at a fairly new location. Even though the fishing is slow, there is only a few more weeks to win the custom Rainshadow Heavy Heaver surf shark rod! The leader is Mike (Pinoyfisher) with a 94.5″ Sevengill! (It was actually 96.5″, but he was penalized 2″ for rule breakage)
Get out there and locate them! The OB Pier has regularly been getting big Soupfin, even during the day, so the cliffs might be a place to try once again, especially with the lower tides.
